The Integrity Debate Championship, a highly anticipated event spanning November to December 2023, concluded with a thrilling finale held during the closing ceremony of the Asia - Middle East - Africa Conference on Academic and Research Integrity 2023 (ACARI2023) at Middlesex University Dubai.
The championship, which saw semi-finals hosted at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), with judges from across the UAE’s universities and schools, witnessed intense debates among participating teams on a variety of topics, including the role of AI in education, the comparison between traditional and online exams, and more.
The finals, held as part of the ACARI2023 conference, showcased the remarkable talents and intellect of the competing teams. In a tightly contested battle, Al Sadiq Islamic English School Boys emerged victorious, securing first place with an outstanding performance.
The winning team members, Humza Faizan, Rashid Mosleh, and Muhammad Jawad, demonstrated exceptional debate skills and in-depth knowledge of the topics at hand.
Pace British School secured the second-place position, with team members Muhammad bin Asad, Aaradhya Vij, and Lina Amar showcasing commendable debating prowess.
The championship received accolades from judges for the high quality of debate and the impressive performances of all participating teams. Special recognition was extended to the top 10 teams whose outstanding performances illuminated the competition.
Looking ahead, organizers expressed anticipation for the 2024 edition of the Integrity Debate Championship, aiming to build upon the success of this year's event and continue fostering intellectual engagement and critical thinking among participants.
